Congratulations to us; we completed the "Great Loop" on September 24, 2003 and earned our BaccaLOOPerate degree from the AGLCA.

We’re Cheryl and Bob Gural, cruising aboard our 42’ Carver Aft Cabin Motor Yacht, powered by twin 375hp Caterpillar engines. To familiarize yourself with us and our boat, just click on BOAT TOUR. Here you can see us and view some exterior and interior pictures of HOW ‘BOUT US, which was named for a favorite song of ours. Thereafter, just click on WHERE WE’VE BEEN, then any location to view other pictures and read about interesting places we’ve been and things we’ve seen since selling our home in Port Huron, Michigan, and moving aboard last year.

Our plan is to cruise around the Great Loop, also called the Great Circle, which covers the major waterways of the eastern part of our country from the Mississippi River to the East Coast. Since we’re departing from the St. Louis area, we will begin our trip on the Mississippi. We will make the connection to the Ohio R., on to the Tennessee R, and finally the Tenn-Tom Waterway to Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

From there we will travel the Intracoastal Waterway to Apalachicola where we will cross the Gulf to Clearwater. Then on to Naples to cross the Gulf to Key West. Next up the East Coast of the US to the Hudson R., and on through the Erie Canal System to Lake Ontario. Then across the lake to the Trent-Severn Waterway, through Georgian Bay, and across Lake Huron to Port Huron. From there we will travel around Michigan through Lake Michigan to Chicago, where we will travel on the Illinois R. to the Mississippi R. and St. Charles, MO, to complete our loop.
